Workplace Giving

The Vinnies Workplace Giving Program is a great way for your organisation to make a positive social impact on the lives of Tasmanians experiencing disadvantage.
You can make pre-tax donations without the fuss of receipts and claim forms and your organisation tackles social issues head-on by partnering with one of Australia’s most respected charities. Most importantly of all, Vinnies receives vital funds to help support thousands of Tasmanians experiencing disadvantage.
Workplace Giving has the most traction because it is collective giving, supported by the entire organisation. Everyone gives a little together means more funds for the cause, and greater impact.
It’s simple to set up. Please follow our step-by-step guide to get your Vinnies Workplace giving Program underway.

TOTAL SURFACE PROTECTION ARE DOING GOOD WORKS
What’s the name of your business and what do you do?
Total Surface Protection. Established in 1996 we are an industrial painting & abrasive blasting business servicing a range of different industries including construction, energy, & resources.
How and why did you start raising money for Vinnies Loui’s Van
My friend Tyson & I had previously completed the Point to Pinnacle fun run & thought that for our second attempt that we would try to raise some money for a local charity. Another friend suggested Loui’s Van & we were away. Together we created Loui’s Legends & have had great success in raising money each year by participating in the Point to Pinnacle. Over the last 4 years we have raised over $27,000 as a team.
Do your work colleagues and employees participate in raising money?
I have a lot of support from our customers but also our suppliers who generously donate each year. I have a great deal of support from friends & family, in particular my wife Kris, who deserves a special mention for putting up with my training routine & in getting the word out on social media platforms. Kris & myself are co-owners of the business & she is a team member of Loui’s Legends.
How do you think their participation affects workplace culture and morale?
With our employees I try to lead by example. I believe that they see the efforts that I go to in not only training & completing the run up the mountain, but also the time & energy taken to chase up donations. I hope I have inspired them in some way.
Any other comments you would like to make about your involvement with Vinnies.
I am proud to be associated with Vinnies & hope that the amount that we’ve raised through Loui’s Legends has affected some change for the better.
